Commented on Dr. Mel, Popular TV Weatherman, Dies at 66

Dr. Mel is the one weatherman who was correct better than 90% of the time. When all the others predicted rain he predicted sun and not to cancel your outdoor plans. He was that reliable. He also was the sole weatherman who said the storm of last march would be devastating vs. the other professionals who indicated it would be a relatively mild storm. Rest in peace Dr. View Comment

where do these people come from? Not only are they ill-informed about the mortgage crisis and the bank bailouts, they are nothing more than pawns of the same people who largely created the problems they want to protest. Being clueless is not a virtue. Ignorance is a sin!! View Comment

I happened to be in the City today and the 2 guys who had the $1,000 in cash to recruit protesters were buying rounds of cocktails for all at Annie Moore's. View Comment

what i don't understand: did she represent to the town and/or police that 50-5,000 may show up or was it the town assuming? if the former, isn't there some form of misrepresentation which would make her liable for the police overtime? Appreciate the help?

We all agree after this weekend's incident Margaret is an easy target. Let's lay off the personal attacks and hope the best for her. The rest will fall into place.

What does this Biblical verse have to do with Occupy Darien??? We clothe and feed people with donations to charities. We help people with taxes that we already pay? This event is nothing more than some radical wacko trying to bring attention to herself and attempting to elevate herself to a level of importance. The Occupy protests have been in the news for weeks so to think bringing it to Darien is going to force a change in the system is quite delusional. Here's a couple of passages that are more appropriate for the people who attend these events:
Proverbs 10:4
Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Proverbs 13:4
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent is made fat.
I would also add that the truly poor and homeless of Occupy Wall street were thrown out by the protesters. Such hypocrisy!

I say, let's "Occupy Margaret Rague's Head"!!!
Certainly more space available than at Tilly Pond. Hey Margaret: The reason you needed to start working at the age of 11 is because your Dad was more concerned with being a social activist than caring for his daughter. View Comment

So let me see if i understand this correctly. Some attorney, who also part-times as a doctor (i.e. obviously not a very good attorney) feels that Darien needs to listen to the supposed 99% at Tilly Pond during the CHRISTMAS season so Darien better understands their plight. I have a suggestion for "Dr. I will Cure You the Natural Way with Magic Beans", this town, whether Wall Street brokers or Blue Collar workers, have co-existed pretty well way before "Dr. Get More Moon Rays to clear up your Skin, Esquire" appeared in town. Try focusing on the right area, i.e.Washington, and not the people who employ or create jobs. In fact, I would suggest, after you get off the ray of sunshine, that some of the Blue Collar workers in town are wealthier than the Evil Wall Streeters. View Comment
