DARIEN, Conn. – Darien’s boys and girls track teams cruised to easy victory in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Eastern Division championship at Wilton High School.

The boys won with 177.5 points, followed by New Canaan with 115. The girls won with 170, followed by Wilton with 87.6. Both teams will compete in the league championships Thursday at Hillhouse High School in New Canaan.

Winners for the boys included Corey Eppley (45) and the 4 x 225 meter relay. The Blue Wave had a host of runner-up finishes, including the 4 x 750 relay, Spencer McMullin (45), Matt Pik (600), Michael Johnston (1,600 and 3,200), Eppley (300), Harlan Smith (high jump), Will DeRocco (pole vault) and William Lochtefeld (shot put).

The girls breezed by, winning the 4 x 750, 4 x 375, sprint medley and 4 x 225 relays and getting individual wins from Madeleine Schneider (45 hurdles), Catherline Lacy (45 and high jump), Grace Loh (1,000), Dillon Schoen (600) and Jessica Thornbury (pole vault).
